The chilled breeze is enthused by a symphony of ancient autumnal chants, hailing the homecoming of the harvest moon.
Grey skies are swollen with stifled tears, an anguish that will turn to outcry upon the absence of the sun. Shallow-bodied lakes of earthy-green pigment ripple under the splattering of rain as models Raj at PRM and Xavier at Select pull their coats closer to their rising chests. Their cheeks flushed, their hearts invigorated - they await the equinox.
As the boys wade through purging buckthorn and feathery leaves of yarrow plants, photographer Jessica Mahaffey captures their vibrant frames. Drenched in the sweet vigor of September haze, their cores tender like ripened fruits strung from coppery branches. Afar, in homely caverns, fires are lit and feasts of hearty yields are being served, but Raj and Xavier pursue the wilderness; buoyed up by shared anticipation for the alliance of day and night.
Despite the preying northerly winds and the decaying sun, the boys emit warmth as stylist Nathan Henry drapes them in hues of fiery foliage: rich plums, explosive reds, and dazzling marigolds. The sky splits into a tapestry of twilight threads, as the restless mind is purged under the light of the harvest moon.
