Model TOUSSAINT at Nisch Management
Toussaint at Nisch Management goes on a field trip for Boys by Girls exclusive this editorial with Sabina Olson just outside the busy Stockholm, Sweden.
Meet him by the lake and bring nothing but yourself. Ease your shoulders, stretch your aching limbs and close your tired eyes. Your only interruptions are the echoes of a birds song and the rippling of a breeze against the water. Nature is patient, it stops and listens. It’s always honest, but not always kind. You see, in muting the distractions of everyday life - you dial into a station reserved solely for your subconscious. Running through invisible wires, your thoughts beam into a small cabin in the woods and light up an entire village within your mind.
In a photographic love-letter to her homeland, Sabina Olson trails behind Toussaint at Nisch Model Management. More than half the total area of Sweden is covered in lush forests; that’s 23 million hectares of pure silence, to be exact. Perhaps, this ratio of trees to humans explains the Nordic spirit - its simplicity. Both parts modesty and unrivaled beauty, like a mirror carved from jagged rocks and towering pine trees.
Stylist Meja Taserud pairs tailoring with all-star classics, usually spotted in the hallways of 1980s teenage rom-coms. Scandinavian staples get the Americana treatment; note the retro Letterman jacket combined with honey-mustard trousers and double-denim on classic checks. Bringing solitude and dreams of escapism, growing up in the countryside is a tumultuous gift. Despite how far one travels from home, the string of a baron landscape will always follow the soul. From the floating moss to your first inhale of cold air, it is the baptism of ice and wind that will heal you. Go home, be free.
