Boys By Girls veteran Dani Brubaker photographs actor Owen Teague for the new AW18 print issue against asphalt, power stations, and sanded pitch-dark tiles. Stylist Veronica Graye celebrates the individuality of the actor through statement clothing, mixing stunning pieces from the autumn-winter ’18 collection of Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello with mid-century inspired work wear. This photo series is sure to make its way into future mood and Pinterest boards.
“I was immersed into this world of rural poverty: it’s about three siblings - with me playing the youngest - who are the primary opioid dealers of this small Ohio town. The film tackles the topic of opioid addiction in America and its effects on the family and the moral issues that it brings. I play opposite Josh Hartnett, Margarita Levieva, and Bruce Dern in a very timely story, considering it’s a huge problem here in the U.S. I believe opioid overdose is now the leading cause of accidental death here, as I’m pretty sure it has surpassed car crashes.”
Owen’s dream is to make an impact with his art. He aspires for his artistic endeavours to receive an audience’s response - to hit a nerve in another human being. His upcoming feature ‘Inherit the Viper’ does just that. The film, a social commentary on the opioid epidemic in America, provides the visuals for a dialogue that’s been hotly debated in American media outlets. Through the medium of motion picture, Owen takes on his part in procuring change.
